Two newcomers on Econocom’s board of directors

Brussels, 5 April 2024 - Following the Econocom group’s annual general meeting that took place on 2 April 2024, Jean-Louis Bouchard, CEO, Chairman of the Board of Directors and representative of Econocom International BV, announced that Chantal De Vrieze and Philippe Capron have been appointed to the Board of Directors, as director and independent director respectively, for four years.
 

As part of its strategic plan ‘One Econocom 2024–2028’, the Econocom group has decided to make changes to its governance and is pleased to announce that Chantal De Vrieze and Philippe Capron have joined its board of directors. Through their respective experiences, both will considerably help meet the group’s challenges and fulfil the operational and strategic aims that it has set in its new plan.
 

Chantal De Vrieze began her career in marketing at Agfa before specialising in financing at Van Breda. Between 2001 and 2018, she worked successively as leasing director and managing director of Econocom Benelux and managing director of Altran Belgium and Luxembourg. She has headed Econocom Belux since 2019. She graduated in law from Ghent University. She also sits on the board of directors of several renowned firms, including Axa Belgium, Colruyt Group, EVS Broadcast Equipment and Guberna.
 

Chantal De Vrieze said ‘I’m honoured to join Econocom’s board of directors. For me, this appointment is the culmination of my steadfast work within this group to which I’m especially attached and whose DNA I share. Through this new role, which complements my current responsibilities, I plan to bring the best combination of strategy and operations.’
 

Philippe Capron began his career at France’s inspectorate-general of public finances. He then worked as the financial director of large firms including Usinor, Arcelor, Vivendi and Veolia. He was also a partner at Bain & Company. In parallel, he has sat on the boards of directors of many international firms, including Activision Blizzard, SFR and Canal+. He is currently a partner at Perella Weinberg Partners. He graduated from HEC business school, the Paris Institute of Political Studies and the postgraduate school École nationale d'administration.
 

Philippe Capron said ‘I’m delighted to join the board of directors of this European group, renowned for its unique combination of areas of expertise in the sustainable digital transformation of firms. This new chapter is a logical next step in support already provided for the group and its governance for many years, including a first mandate as a director from 2016 to 2020.’ 

One digital company
